[B&B] Woodland Gardens Bed and Breakfast

September 16, 2019 Sandi

Nestled in the hills of Northumberland County sits Woodland Gardens Bed and Breakfast. It's where we stayed for our overnight trip to Port Hope. The spacious home is about a 10-minute drive from downtown Port Hope. The B&B is run by a lovely couple, Lea and Jack, and they really provided a very warming experience.

The two acres home is opened as a B&B and has several rooms for short-term rental. We stayed on the main floor level in the Spruce Suite, which was very spacious. It had a living room, bathroom, private hot sauna room, deck, and backyard.

The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, and spices if guests want to cook. The fridge was also fully stocked with complimentary water bottles and pop.

Although not pictured, there is also a cedar-lined 6-person steam sauna for guests to enjoy. Perfect to use to unwind after a long day of exploring the city.

At nighttime, if you want to stay indoor, there is also a games room with board games, ping pong, shuffleboard, darts, and foosball.

The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the deck while enjoying the view of their beautiful garden.

For our entrees, we both opted for lettua (little pancakes), a breakfast delicacy from Finland. It's a cross between pancake and crepe served alongside fruits and whipping cream. The breakfast item was both light and tasty!

Lea was kind enough to make us eggs, Canadian peameal bacon, and sausages as well.

The B&B is ideally suited for small groups but it can accommodate up to 8 people.  Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it if you're ever in Port Hope or its vicinity area.
